About the Program

CIU

By calling on the interpretive skills of a significant number of committed religious leaders and scholars in the state of Oklahoma, and facilitating a broad-ranging study of the different religious traditions which they represent, Phillips Theological Seminary aims to offer an innovative and challenging new educational program designed to foster interreligious understanding and help prepare adult learners for our increasingly multicultural and religiously diverse community in northeastern Oklahoma.

PTS, through this bold, new interfaith initiative, has actively recruited instructors and students from multiple spiritual traditions who wish to consider the requirements of hospitality in diverse multicultural and interreligious contexts, engage in substantive dialogue on difficult and all-too-often divisive eco-justice issues, and promote civic cooperation where possible to support the common good.

This new program is designed for adult learners who, though they may have different learning goals, recognize the need for greater interreligious understanding in our community and are able to benefit from and contribute to the curriculum.
